At Cedar Rapids Vision In Motion we offer unique, state-of-the-art equipment. This equipment is used to help the therapist create the best possible treatment plan based on each patient's specific diagnostic and treatment needs. Below is a list of some of the equipment used at Cedar Rapids Vision In Motion.
Visagraph
A computer-aided reading assesssment program allowing eye-care professionals to objectively measure eye movements made during reading and assist in identifying reading and learning problems.
Neuro-Vision Rehabilitator (NVR)
An interactive treatment program combining visual tasks and balance exercises to imnprove eye-hand coordination for children and adults using Wii technology.
Interactive Metronome
A brain-based rehabilitation assessment and training program developed to directly improve the processing abilities affecting attention, motor-planning and sequencing. This therapy also helps to strengthen motor and cognitive skills.
DynaVision 2000
A light board used to assess reaction time, eye movement and eye/hand coordination. It is a very useful rehabilitation treatment tool for those who have suffered head injuries, visual field-deficits and post-stroke recovery patients.
Play Attention
A computer-based NASA inspired program for children and adults with attention and focus problems. It is designed to help improve attention and teach the skills necessary for success in the classroom, at work and in social settings.
Learning Breakthrough
A structured set of movement exercises performed on a balance board to improve the way in which the brain processes information. It incoporates balance, sensory processing and sensory integration activites.
Sensory Learning Program
A unique program uniting vision, auditory and balance strategies to help indivudals with autism, brain injuries and other sensory disorders. Click here to learn even more.
Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (SLO)
A diagnostic tool used to take a picture of the retina and with precision map the spots where there is lost vision, providing better patient outcomes as the low vision doctor and therapist can created targeted training to help the individual achieve better functional vision.
VEP Vision Test
A diagnostic tool used to test for visual deficits in children aged six months and older. It can evaluate the entire visual pathway without dilation or sedation. It also can detect visual deficits such as strabismus, optic nerve disorders and severe refractive disorders.
